Youth was soccer... :-) We Holter kids had never played before but with Brad, Rod, Jay and Josh around you learn very quickly. They all give suggestions even if you're not on their team. :-) A few of the many mishaps that evening... Ellie and I "sandwiched" Rod who was on the opposite team and we were all trying to kick the ball... Ellie accidentally kicked Rod extremely hard in the shin... she bruised her foot. Rod has a hard shin. LOL! :-) I was hit in the head with the ball while in defense and they didn't make a shot, then Jesse kicked the ball and it ended up hitting Brad in the eye, and it is now quite black. LOL! But the over all was a fun filled evening. We watched Louie Giglio for devotional. Every time I listen to him I find another gem that God has prepared for me to hear. :-)
Sunday I went with Brad, Carrol, Jay, Pete and Rose up to Nipawin, to the Bible College there for the graduation ceremony. It was neat to see. :-)

Busy
April 16th.... On the 14th several of us went down to Brad and Carrol's to watch the sheep shearing. Brad set aside several fleeces for me... I still have to find a way to clean them, tease them apart, card and then spin them, but for right now I'm only going to work on getting them clean. If there's rain I could just set them out on a rack of sorts and let the rain clean them but the rain we had for a couple days has left and it's nice sunny weather again. So I need to find another way to clean it. :-) So if any of you have any ideas on how to clean the wool I'd be glad for the suggestions. :-)
Thursday, Carrol picked Naomi and I up about 10:45am for a LTO meeting at the church. We figured out a lot of things, tied up most of the loose ends, looked at clothes, hats and accessories. :-) Then the three of us stayed in till Y2J. While Y2J was going on Naomi, Trisha and I washed the 150 glasses for the LTO. We'll be using them for the floats and also for the favors. You'll love them if you're intending to come. :-) If you want a ticket you can e-mail us and we can get you one or two or what ever you want.... But we have to have them bought by April 26th . So let us know or call Carrol to reserve for you... you can e-mail Naomi or I and get her phone # or call us (which would be more reliable since we don't get net very often) and those who could come I'm sure know our phone #. :-) The Tickets are $8.00 per person. The time 7:30 pm at the Endeavour gym. The date April 30th . (you can always ask for directions to. :-)
Gun class is over for this week.... Wednesday we had gun handling night, teamed up into teams of two and went through all the different kinds of rifles, shotguns, muzzle loaders... going through a fence with your partner and then alone, and going through all the different shooting positions. It was fun to have a hands on night. :-) The test is going to be on the 26th... (at least they are hoping that works) those of us who are going to take the federal test (so we can apply for our PAL, Possession and Acquisition License) will be going to the teachers place on Thursday night (there's no regular class that night) and take more rifle handling and some other things to ready us for the federal test. Then on Monday we'll take the federal test right after the regular course test.
This post is long... things have been happening this week. :-) One more before I close. :-)
Dad called the church Thursday and asked us if it's be OK to do ½ hour of music at the trade show in Preeceville today.... we said “yeah” so we're set up for 4:00 pm today. We're going in early so we can do any shopping that we need to do, banking and net time. We're doing a few hymns, three kids songs, and lots of fiddle tunes. I think we have a little over ½ hour of music, but it always goes a little faster on stage. So we should come out fine. :-)

God versus Humans

It's an interesting quote, and yet how we should wish it for our own lives. There was once a German doctor who had been in Hitler's Youth and army who said while speaking to a British church, “I am concerned with the casual quality of the faith of youth. You do not give to Christ anything like the devotion which German youth once gave to Hitler.” How can it be that we can “worship” a human and yet we refuse to give to God the ruler and creator of the world a second thought. As humans we fail so miserably... why should any one want to follow us and yet we make that mistake every day, we allow our thoughts to be more on our fellow humans than on God. We look up to them and not to God, we let them govern our emotions, they plan our lives, they en-bond us and because we're afraid to follow God for fear that people will think us “weird” or “crazy” we cover the voice that tells us that all is not right and keep stumbling though life. How I wish that more of us would lift our heads above the ground and off other people and into the sky, look up to the Savior and you'll find that your feet will move to higher ground. No, not everything is perfect but you will have God beside you (or carrying you), the peace and joy no one can take away. Yes you will get in the dumps, but think of what God has done for you and your heart will be lifted again. “Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord. Our God you reign forever, Our hope, our strong deliverer. You are the everlasting God, the everlasting God, You do not faint, you wont grow weary, you're the defender of the weak, you comfort those in need, you lift us up on wings like eagles.” (Not sure who wrote this song I think it was Chris Tomlin though) Keep your eyes on God... and remind me if I tend to fall by the way side, don't be afraid to slap me and pull me back to the high ground, I know I fall all to often when I take my eyes off the light. God of Comfort
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
It's wonderful how God is a God of comfort... and yet we must not lose the real picture. God is a God of comfort and because we as Christians are comforted by Him we need to go out and comfort as many people as we can. Spreading God's love and peace in this world as we live our lives.
This past little bit has been the Easter week/end and so on. We need to remember that the real reason we can celebrate is only because Jesus raised from the Dead! There would be no rejoicing in anyones heart is He had not risen. There's a song that Robin Mark (a praise song writer and singer) sings called No One Like You Lord....
